We think you’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park. Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If you’re lucky, you’ll also encounter the big cats – lions especially, but also cheetahs and leopards – that are always a possibility here. And there’s a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and zebra off your wildlife-viewing list.

Ngorongoro Crater

Your day in and around Ngorongoro Crater could just be one of the most memorable of your whole safari. You’ll explore the crater rim and then drive down onto the crater floor, where the critically endangered black rhinos are the stars of an astonishing wildlife show. You’ll almost certainly see large-tusked elephants, at least one of the Ngorongoro’s four lion prides, and wandering clans of spotted hyenas. It also just happens to be one of Africa’s most beautiful corners, a hidden world where you’ll be surrounded by steep, deep-green crater walls, a salt lake, forests and hippo-filled waterways.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara is a world-class wildlife-viewing destination, and it offers you some really special safari experiences. For a start, it has one of the few lion populations in Africa which are known to climb trees. It's also famous for its elephants, and it's not unusual to drive along a forest track only to have to stop suddenly to allow an elephant family to pass. The setting is similarly superb, with the park's thin, but dense strip of forest wedged between a bird-rich lake and the steep cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment.
